Bouchair complains to president then retracted and apologized

On FLN abuses nationwide

M. Bouchair, coordinator of the national commission of legislative election control has retracted his complaint in the election date to president Bouteflika when he reported abuses by National Liberation Front FLN

and called President Bouteflika to intervene immediately against “FLN behaviour nationwide”.

Home affairs minister Mr. Nourredine Zerhouni pointed out during yesterday press conference that information given to Mr. Bouchair was not «reliable», and the latter’s reaction has been “excessive”.

M. Bouchair said that abuses responsibility is incumbent to “the head of the legislative election administrative commission” and stated that “up to now, a number of illegal behaviour have been recorded in different Wilayas”, including “preventing observers from attending to the start of voting operations and refusing to open ballot boxes before the poll”, in addition to “filling some boxes with voting papers for the FLN party”.

M. Bouchair complaint underscores also the “absence of voting papers for a given lists such was the case for Democracy and Culture Gathering RCD, Ennahda movement in Blida Wilaya, and Peace Society Movement in Saïda Wilaya” . Moreover, Mr. Bouchair raised the fact that FLN election campaign has been extended until the election due date contrary to law provisions.
