You divided that people to two categories: terrorists who boycott the elections and nationalists who head to ballot boxes to rescue the beloved country for the “nth” time from the imminent danger hovering over it, when you stated repeatedly in more than an occasion that the best response to terror was to rush to ballot offices. In other words, those who do not do are terrorists or terrorism supporters in the best cases. I have the conviction that the overwhelming majority of Algerians, whatever their ideological or political standpoints may be, have been expecting the result. Everyone was waiting for it, except you with your excessive authorship. As you thought citizens will go on their truce to ad infinitum, you kept on your practices and behaviour that poured all democratic values, and the holiness of election act. The result: you’ve been obliged in spite of you to announce the result which is an unprecedented event in the existing regime History. I am so sure that the message conveyed was fully understood as I don’t doubt you can decipher it. You can go to the in-depth of this defeat reasons by comparing similar events in other states with secular democratic culture, and draw the lesson. Those who refused to head to ballot boxes, who are the overwhelming majority, have not answered the call of Abbasi Madani, Ali Benhadj or Socialist Forces Front. Those who choose to go have not responded to Belkhadem, Ouyahia, Soltani, Reda Malek, Saïd Sâadi, Rabah Kebir, Madani Mezrag and others calls to preserve the Republic institutions. The Algerian people have already united as one man to save Algeria and its institutions from collapse in more than an occasion. Today they are willing to give some genuine content to those institutions...They want a real democratic and plural parliament that represents genuinely the will to trade with all Algerian people and mirror their aspiration to change, not a mere legislative institution to endorse a decision today and abrogate it tomorrow... People want a political plurality not a party one, in which they can hardly distinguish the system in power and the opposition. So are you going to take daring measures in treating with Algerian people Thursday’s message?...Normally, I cannot but say that what Algeria interest imposes upon me: You will learn the lesson this time and you will move with some extent of courage towards Algerian people aspiration...by doing so you will be spared from the charge of sowing poverty in the golden country. | ||||||||||||||||||
