Eastern borders are the scene of many kinds of trafficking activities namely fuel, oil tank, cattle, and coral which are illegally transported from Algeria to Tunisia then European and Asian countries in spite of efforts undertaken by coast guards.

The phenomenon is to be very well considered by the authorities as it is deeply related to underdevelopment problems.

During its 72 hours presence with 18 coast guard group commandment 20 kilometres off Souk Ahras Wilaya, El Khabar noticed the arrest of a Renault 21 car onboard clothing items, a DVD reader, a medical device, and a radio.

According to the commandment, the arrested recognized that he corrupted a custom agent to allow him cross the border. According to the same source, smugglers moves have been encouraged by guides remunerated for the surveillance of border guards. Thus smugglers use shepherds and young jobless people equipped with mobile phones and act mainly in the Algerian Tunisian border area, which include 20 points through which smugglers can get into.
