Algeria-Libya border demarcation before 2007 end

An Algerian Libyan commission of experts, topographers and Algerian diplomats will meet in Libya their counterparts to do the last alteration of border demarcation between Algeria and Libya, while disagreement still underpins demarcation process for some Algeria-Morocco border areas, well informed sources told El Khabar.

The rest of Algeria-Libya border demarcation process which still constitute a source of disagreement between the two countries is being finalised all along 300 kilometres north in Algeria-Libya-Niger line. The Final demarcation of Algeria-Libya borders will also be undertaken by the end of the year at most.

Commissions work is being supervised by foreign affairs ministries. These commissions include representatives from foreign affairs, defence, and home affairs ministries each acts within its powers.

However, while Libya and Algeria came up to a cordial solution that preserves friendship relations between the two countries, the disagreement on many border areas is still pending between Algeria and Morocco.
