Home Affairs Minister Mr. Nourredine Yazid Zerhouni announced yesterday the freeze of the financial aid allocated to 1980 October earth quake stricken citizens provided for in 2007 finance act.

On the fringes of President Bouteflika visit to Chlef, Mr. Zerhouni pointed out, during the press conference that the bill adopted by the last parliament has passed to realize political goals by some MPs. He further said that the required sums cannot be provided in the time being. In this regard, he unveiled that those 6300 families’ still occupying chalets are to be re-housed, while bank credits with lower benefit rates are to be provided to chalet owners so as to be able to remove the latter and construct new houses guaranteeing a decent life.

In another context, Home affairs minister revealed that the President has allocated 15 billion dinars meant to back up projects realization in the Wilaya. He recalled that 3882 development projects have been achieved in many sectors, which allowed the creation of 200 000 new jobs including 57 thousand permanent jobs and 135 thousand temporary ones.

It is worth noting that President Bouteflika has made a fact finding visit to many projects namely the airport, water desalination station, as well as educational and service delivery institutions.

On another side, President Bouteflika visit to Blida has brought about people resentment as regards the preparation phase of the visit undertaken by the so-called “civil society associations”, as the overwhelming majority unanimously are annoyed by measures meant to better the image of the Wilaya to mislead authorities but things turn bad as soon as the President’s visit ends.
